Hypnotherapy There is much more to hypnosis than swinging watches. It is being used to treat a wide range of physical and physiological disorders, to regulate habits and even as a substitute for anesthesia during surgery or childbirth. Hypnotherapy is widely used as a complementary therapy to treat a wide range of ailments and conditions. It can be employed on its own as a treatment or as part of an overall management complementing other therapies. It is used for a range of issues such as skin diseases, insomnia, weight control, migraines, self confidence and self esteem and excellent for phobia's and study. When you undergo hypnosis you enter a state known as a trance, don't be alarmed or deterred by this term it simply means that you become deeply relaxed, with your mind focused and you are fully aware of everything around you. In this condition, you are much more open to suggestion than you would normally be, this is because hypnotherapy gives access directly to the subconscious. With hypnosis, it is your choice to accept or reject suggestions made to you by the hypnotherapist. For a consultation Please contact Jeannie Gillett Dip Coun, Dip Hyp
Stress Management We all deal with stress every day of our lives. With all the pressures of modern day life the word stress is often missed used as when you hear young children stay I'm stressed out. Some stresses are actually good stresses, they motivate and inspire you, like athletes. Only when stress is unmanaged does it become a problem, all too often people don't even realise that they are under stress they have been living with it for so long and it has just become part of the norm. Not until the stress becomes chronic and it really starts effecting our health, do we realise that we have a problem as our bodies are not designed to function under chronic stress. We have long known that stress contributes to many diseases and conditions, from the serious including heart problems and cancer all the way down to the annoying such as allergies. There are different ways to manage the stress, here are a few 1. Know your stress levels, as we each have different levels, different reactions and different coping skills. 2. 2. See if your personality needs are being met, if your needs are being met then you WILL be able to cope with the daily stressors. If they are not being met, then why? Look to all areas of your life eg. work, social, relationships and spiritual. 3. 3. Find the cause to your effect (the effect being the stress). If you are unable to change the cause then change your attitude to it. For an individually tailored Stress Management Consultation and Program including Stress management diary.
